The heat will be on over the next few days as the high pressure ridge has now taken control of the Alabama weather pattern.
We expect mid 90’s for afternoon high temperatures, with a few upper 90’s likely across the region.
Because these are the hottest temperatures we’ve seen so far this year, everyone should make sure to take extra precautions to avoid heat related issues when outdoors.
Although we’re going to be experiencing these hot temperatures, we’re not in record heat territory just yet.
Heat index values will likely rise between 100 to 105 with the highest values over southeast sections of the state.
Only isolated thunderstorms will remain possible each afternoon through Wednesday.
We may see an increased chance of scattered afternoon storms by Thursday, if we see increased moisture from the Gulf.
