The heat ridge over the southeast will continue to be the dominant feature across Alabama through next week.
Temperatures will reach into the mid 90’s again over most areas today.
The heat index will run from 95 to 104 across the state as well.
A heat advisory has been issued for the southeast counties as heat indices are forecast to reach the 105 criteria.
Some isolated thunderstorms are possible again today, but chances of getting wet are small…or less than 20%.
The remnants of Tropical Storm Bill will rotate around the southeast upper ridge through the week.
It looks as the system might bring slightly better chances of rain to areas north of I-20 Friday and Saturday. We may see a brief break from some of the hotter temperatures across the northern areas.
At this point we don’t expect much from the system, and extended models show the ridge increasing again by the first of next week.
In this case, the heat would continue…as the heat and dry conditions will prevail.
