Watching the Remnants of Tropical Depression Bill

The remnants of Tropical Depression Bill are currently located over Missouri and slowly moving east throughout today across west Tennessee and east Arkansas.

The heat and high humidity will be with us again, with high temperatures reaching back into the 90’s.

We expect to get a brief break from the heat over the next couple of days as this system continues to tracks east and increases clouds and shower chances across the region.

The best chances of rain from the remnants across Alabama will be tonight and on Saturday.

The initial line of convection ahead of Bill will reach northwest Alabama late this afternoon.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected tonight across the northern one-third of Alabama as the main area of energy passes through the area.

We expect another area of energy to move through on Saturday, which may enhance rain chances.

Once the remnants of Bill moves out into the Atlantic on Sunday an upper ridge over the southern plains states will build eastward and suppress rain chances over the southeast through at least the middle of next week.

The heat will build back into the region with temperatures reaching well into the 90’s and approaching 100 next week.
