A band of showers…some heavy moved across parts of north Alabama through early morning. These showers were associated with the remnants of Bill, which is centered well north of Alabama.
Some of this moisture will continue across north and central locations of Alabama today. The combination of day time heating and moisture will allow some scattered storms to develop across the area.
Once again, with the scattered nature of the showers…many areas will not receive rain. Even for areas that do receive any showers, they would only be brief as the activity will be on the move today.
Conditions across the southern areas of the state will be drier and hotter today.
A slight chance of an evening thunderstorm will remain tonight.
A high pressure ridge will move back in on Sunday, and suppress development of storms and allow the heat levels to build back in.
Hot and dry conditions are expected to expand on Monday and continue through at least mid-week.
