The southeast remains in a stormy northwesterly flow. This setup was sending waves of upper level disturbances across the region.
The disturbances interact with a moist and unstable environment in place…and produce scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms.
We are watching a complex of thunderstorms now affecting areas of southwest Missouri that is expected to affect the area later today.
The thunderstorms will be capable of producing strong winds, heavy rainfall, frequent lightning and hail. Some of these storms may reach severe levels again today.
Based on the weather pattern and model runs, the high rain chances are expected to continue through the weekend. Due to the scattered nature of the complexes, it will be difficult to pinpoint the most affected areas.
