The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a Flash Flood Watch in effect through Saturday evening.
Saturated soils from rainfall over the past few days along with the additional rainfall expected may cause flash flooding of area roadways… low lying areas and urban small streams.
Heavy rainfall will continue to move across the region today through Saturday night bringing an estimated 2 to 4 inches over already saturated soils.
The Flash Flood Watch includes the following areas…Colbert, Cullman, DeKalb, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, Morgan.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
