The radar imagery is very similar to this time yesterday morning… with a persistent corridor of showers and storms extending from northern Alabama and westward into Arkansas.
We remain in a westerly flow that will continue to support multiple rounds of thunderstorm activity through Sunday morning.
Northern sections will see the most widespread rain totals…where Flash Flood Watches remain in effect. Flash flooding could become a significant issue this morning over northwestern sections.
Further south across the state…additional thunderstorm activity is expected as daytime heating occurs. There is potential for a few severe storms with damaging wind the main threat.
Any of the stronger storms over the state may produce gusty winds, heavy rain, frequent lightning and some hail.
Will there be a break in the rain? It is not looking great. With that said though there could be some breaks here and there, so if you have outdoor plans have a weather safety plan in mind and stay weather aware.
