The heat and humidity continue to be the major weather story across Alabama.
The humidity will be high enough to produce heat indices near 105 degrees today, especially for western and southern sections of the state. Heat advisories are in effect for these areas today.
The main area of high pressure is located to our west and Alabama is located on the eastern periphery of this ridge.
We will be watching several convective areas of thunderstorms slide from the north towards the eastern sections of the state.
A very active set-up is located to our north today, and we will be watching the development of these storms.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed parts of northern and eastern areas of the state in a slight to enhanced risk of severe storms through late Tuesday.
