The area of thunderstorms that moved into north Alabama Tuesday afternoon produced numerous reports of wind damage across the northern half of the state.
The high pressure ridge over Texas remains the dominate weather factor over the region, and the heat and humidity will be the major weather factors.
We could see some additional thunderstorms develop today over Alabama. Some of the storms will be strong with gusty winds, frequent lightning and locally heavy rains.
The high pressure ridge looks to build and increase back into the region in the coming days.
We expect the heat to not only hang around over the area, but perhaps increase by Friday and into the weekend.
