An area of thunderstorms is moving southeast across west central Alabama this morning.
Partly cloudy and increasingly hot conditions will rule Alabama’s weather this weekend into Monday.
There will be some isolated to scattered thunderstorms today…mainly over west and southern sections of the state.
Looking into Sunday and Monday, extreme heat indices are expected each afternoon near the Alabama/Mississippi line.
High temperatures in the mid to upper 90’s are expected for all areas. The heat index will reach or exceed 100 Sunday and Monday.
We don’t expect to see many storms Sunday, but on Monday we could see some storms come in from the north during the late afternoon.
A cold front is forecast to push into the southeast on Tuesday. Behind the font will be a surge of drier air that will lower the humidity and temperatures for the rest of the work week.
