Temperatures will continue to climb today with daytime highs generally ranging from the middle to upper 90’s.
A few locations could hit the 100 degree mark across the western sections of Alabama.
Look for dangerously hot and humid conditions through Monday across the state.
For today, maximum heat index values during the afternoon hours will range generally from around 105 to 109 degrees, where a heat advisory is in effect. Across the remaining counties, look for values from 96 to 104.
Even warmer conditions are possible for Monday with the heat advisory in effect for the same areas. Plan accordingly, take breaks if working outside, and don’t forget to hydrate.
A front is expected to push into the area on Tuesday…and increase the chances of scattered storms. This cold front should make it all the way to the Gulf Coast before stalling out.
Drier and cooler air is expected to move into the region by Wednesday.
