Another Front Headed Our Way

Mon-severe-threat

Hot and humid conditions continue today and possibly tomorrow. There will be some relief for parts of the area as rain chances increase due to a passing upper level disturbance. The best rain chances today will be across the northern sections.

Heat Indices will reach 105-109 degrees across the south and west, with readings of 98-104 across the far northeast.

Some strong storms are possible today and the Storm Prediction Center has the north half of the state in the ‘marginal severe threat’.

The main threat will be strong wind gusts along with frequent lightning and locally heavy rainfall.

The storm chances will continue to be possible into the evening and overnight.

The better chances will shift into the southern half of the state on Tuesday, and then to extreme southern areas Wednesday.

Dry and cooler conditions behind the front will make it feel very comfortable compared to the past few weeks.
