A large surface high pressure ridge is currently stretched across the Mississippi River Valley and down to the Gulf Coast.
Weather has been dry and considerably cooler across the region…with this weather expected to remain through Tuesday as the ridge slowly shifts across the eastern half of the U.S.
By Wednesday and Thursday…look for the ridge to have progressed enough to allow a return flow of enough moisture for small rain chances mainly across the southern portions of Alabama.
Temperatures will be warming back up through the week. By the end of the week, daytime highs will be just above normal for this time of year.
By Friday…the upper ridge across Texas will likely begin to build into the southeast and suppress some of the activity and moisture return.
With low moisture and no active systems moving into the region for the next 7 days…next weekend looks dry for the most part as well.
