A quiet weather pattern will continue through the weekend across Alabama.
The jet stream remains well to our north…as a ridge of high pressure centered over Texas allows mostly dry conditions to prevail across the region.
Daytime high temperatures this weekend will be very warm to hot. Highs well into the 80’s north and 90’s south are expected on Saturday.
A weak front will move into north Alabama late Saturday into Sunday morning. This will take the highs down a few degrees across the northern section on Sunday afternoon.
We are going with a dry forecast for the weekend…although there could be a few showers develop along or ahead of the front.
I don’t see much chance of any significant rain as the moisture is limited and there is no upper-level support associated with the front.
As we head into next week…a cutoff Low over Georgia and the Carolinas will develop. There could be enough moisture for a few showers mainly over eastern and southern sections.
The main affect will be the temperatures trending downward a few degrees into midweek. We will refine the forecast as the new week begins.
