The upper level shortwave trough is parked over far east Alabama this morning.
This trough is responsible for the clouds and rain over the area on Monday. The activity has shifted eastward…however activity remains over sections of the southeastern part of the state.
Drier air will move into the region and will allow for some clearing skies today. Most of Alabama can expect to see dry conditions as the clouds are expected to break up.
Temperatures will warm back up somewhat as we see a return to drier conditions.
The exception would be the far eastern and southeastern areas. With the upper level trough near the region, there may be additional shower development along with cloud cover through the day.
Rain chances will increase once again by late week due to increase of Gulf and Atlantic moisture…however nothing really widespread or heavy is expected at this time.
